In an organizational mode, I ordered this cute storage compartment box to place beside my computer. It works well and holds papers, pens, scissors and most of the items I need quickly. Clutter problem solved! No complaints about organizing, it works well for it's intended purpose. However I can't stand the aesthetics of this wood's finish. It's like they seriously overdid the design so that it looks fake.I kept putting off this review hoping I'd like it more, but I just cannot bring myself to. The design seems great otherwise. I really wish it was easier on the eyes. Alas.I got this to organize all the miscellaneous stuff that seems to clutter our kitchen table all the time, and seeing it live and in person I think it will work well for that. It's nicely made out of real wood, not fiber board, but out of a very dry, lightweight fir and with only a sort of distressed looking stain, no sealer.I'm a little worried about the wood continuing to dry out and cracking, but more than that I'm concerned that if it gets food spills or splashes, grease, or even dust on it they will be almost impossible to get off. Accordingly, I'm going to get some polyurethane varnish in a clear satin finish and seal the wood. With all the corners, nooks, and crannies, an aerosol spray varnish is the only way to go, so next trip into town I'll pick up a couple cans.Looking forward to getting this fixed up and ready to go - it looks nice (and the varnish will make the wood grain look even better) and it should be very useful.Like lots of folks, our kitchen laptop station can get really cluttered. This looked like it might help, and it has made a big difference/ The laptop desk legs extend upwards enough so it can nestle right underneath. All the compartments can be used to assign each kind of item to its own place, which saves time looking for things. We love this organizer. I'm going to use some rubbing varnish to seal the surfaces because of the kitchen humidity and I found that the small drawer needed to have the bottom outside corners sanded so it would pull easier, but those are just personal observations. It's a really nice way to organize your small clutter! This helped me organize my messy countertop that had become a catch all for stuff. Appears to be real wood, albeit a very light weight wood. Natural too and not coated with lacquer or a finish. Probably wouldn't do well if it got wet so be aware of that. Came with foam pads to put on the bottom as feet which I did. Overall it did its intended purpose which I am happy about. Just wish the wood was little more dense and I may treat it for some level of moisture repellency. Not sure I would recommend it in the end unless the price came down or the wood quality went up.First I must say that I am a Vine reviewer and I received this Wood Desk Drawer Organizers with File Organizer Pen holder free as part of the vine program. The Vine program was designed to generate reviews of new products at amazon. This is really nice, its a good size and can can fit allot onto it, Pens. pencils, stationary, paper clips, etc., and on top of it looking good the wood smells good to. I like it allot. I can recomenned. My desk is clean, and the wood organizer is the reason. I put it to use almost as soon as it was delivered. It's nice looking on my desk and it's sturdy. I wanted a simple organizer, and this is perfect. There is enough room to keep what I need in one place on my desk. I can find my pens and highlighters easier than the various mugs and vases that I was using as pen holders. I have my magazines, paperwork, Kindle and various desk items organized. I am happy with my new desk organizer, and I recommend it.
